Okay, we’re starting the American tour with the first Masters 1000 of the season, in Montreal. As usual, it’s a very open tournament where anything can happen.
On paper, the playing conditions are rather slow with a high bounce, which should favor the big hitters capable of keeping up the pace in long rallies. But be careful, the humidity can still slow down the balls and complicate things.
Historically, we’ve seen underdogs like Popyrin or Sinner prevail here, so I refuse to believe that only the seeds will share the winnings. There will surely be surprises.
Honestly, I have a hard time seeing Zverev or Medvedev prevail in these conditions, but they’re no slouches either. It’s going to be tight and undecided until the end, as often on this tournament.
Good matches to all, we’ll meet up live to follow this closely! 🎾
