- Arthur Fils arrives here as the winner of the Cincinnati Masters 1000. On his way: Yannick Hanfmann, Jiri Lehecka, Alex De Minaur 6-3 6-4, Thiago Tirante, Flavio Cobolli 6-3 6-4, and Frances Tiafoe in the final. First Frenchman titled there since Guy Forget in 1991.
- On the other hand, Stefanos Tsitsipas is 4-4 on hard courts this season, and he just lost to Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3 7-6(1) in Winston-Salem.
