Tennis Prediction Mirra Andreeva vs Chwalinska: Roland Garros

🎾

In brief:

🇫🇷 #RolandGarros

🏳️ Andreeva 2-0 · 1.56 | 0.65u

  • I'm having a really hard time seeing how the Polish player could genuinely worry the Russian today, Chwalinska's run has been exceptional and deserves a lot of respect, but for me, the task is simply too high today.
  • We're talking about a player who has never beaten a top 10 player in her career and who is now going to face one of the most impressive players on the circuit on clay.
  • Mirra Andreeva seems to be on a mission and this was again evident in the semi-final against Marta Kostyuk. From the first exchanges, the Russian displayed impressive intensity, concentration and quality of shots.
  • She plays with completely crazy maturity for her age and gives the impression of knowing exactly what she wants to do on every point.
  • Beyond the result, it's especially the content that impresses me: her movement qualities are simply out of the ordinary. She covers the court like very few players on the circuit, turns defensive situations into offensive positions and constantly forces her opponents to play one more shot.
  • Andreeva hits harder, moves better, defends better and has more tactical solutions when the match gets complicated. It's hard to find an area of the game where the Polish player has a real advantage today.
  • If we look at the statistics of the two players since the start of the tournament:

🇵🇱 Maja Chwalinska

  • 15h44 spent on the courts
  • 63% of points won behind her first serve
  • 58% of points won behind her second serve
  • 5.3 break points faced per match

🏳️ Mirra Andreeva

  • 8h14 spent on the courts
  • 71% of points won behind her first serve
  • 53% of points won behind her second serve
  • 4.3 break points faced per match
  • The figures perfectly illustrate another reality: physical freshness. Chwalinska has been in Paris for nearly three weeks, her tournament started in the qualifiers and she had to multiply the battles to reach this historic final.
  • It's a magnificent adventure, but also extremely demanding physically and mentally.
  • In contrast, Andreeva has perfectly managed her run, she has spent almost half the time on court and arrives at this final with a lot of energy in reserve.
  • And there's another element that worries me a lot for the Polish player: her physical condition is clearly starting to send warning signs.
  • Chwalinska had to take a MTO during her semi-final, proof that her body is starting to seriously feel the effects of the succession of matches, it's never trivial at this stage of a tournament, even less before a Grand Slam final where the physical intensity is even more important.
  • So far, she has managed to push back her limits match after match, but we could feel that she was digging deeper and deeper.
